This is well worth watching... and so beautifully captures why good hockey buddies will be great mates for life!
The background: As a few of you may know we were privileged to receive an invitation from Old Bristolians asking us to field a team v their 1st XI in their 2009 Presidents day. As it clashed with our club day, I decided that we would field the Vintage 97/98/99 Team, which contains only a handful of current club players. This team won the West League title in back to back season 97-99 and gave the 'Blue Army' of travelling fans two wonderful experiences through playing in the National League Play-offs at the National Hockey Stadium, Milton Keynes.
Anthony Tudor, an ex-UWE student, was a young star at the time, both on and off the pitch in that all conquering team. However as he lives in New Zealand he obviously won't be able to make the game this weekend...but he has sent a message to us all via U-tube.
Before you watch you need to know that Mike Steer made a lasting impression on Tudes with a leather thong... !
